Engage the brakes by pulling out the red brake knob on the dashboard of the tractor. The yellow knob next to it should pop out automatically.

Caught with His Trousers Down!

At the weekend I stumbled across a great story on the Sun-Times website, a daily newspaper in Chicago. It’s about a car dealer being arrested in quite a peculiar way.

Police were alerted by a call in the middle of the day saying that a man was naked from the waist down, they then found him half-naked in the passenger seat of his 2006 Bentley trying to cover himself with a jumper. When police asked what he’d been up to, he said that he had just urinated in the alleyway? Officers then spotted a handgun hanging out of the pouch behind the passenger seat, which turned out to have rounds in the magazine.

Eugene Bernshtam, 43, didn’t have a licence for the firearm and has now been held on a $50,000 bond! What more

Don’t Get Hung Up on One Social Media Outlet

The tools of today may not be the tools of tomorrow. The Web is ever changing.

That’s why it’s important not to get too bogged down in any one type of marketing – online or otherwise. It’s great to get involved in online communities, but don’t let it eat up all your time and become the only type of marketing you do.

It’s fine to use Facebook, Twitter or other sites, but don’t invest too much into only those things. As quickly as those outlets popped up on the web, others may pop up just as fast. The key is flexibility.

Monochromic Motorists

Britain’s roads could end up looking like a black and white photograph, with over three quarters of all new cars sold in black, white or a shade of grey! The report is from paint firm PPG, who supply most of the automotive industry. The majority of cars, 32%, are sold in a shade of grey (includes silver), with black and white following closely behind with 24% and 20% respectively. White has shown the biggest resurgence after being bottom of the pile ten years ago to being in the top three this year, and probably the most used colour in advertising and promotions.

This is a big change from 10 years ago, with blue accounting for 25% and green for 15%. Now g

Ombudsman prepares for PPI spike

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) is gearing up for a rise in complaints about payment protection insurance (PPI) after banks put the processing of thousands of disputes on hold.

The ombudsman, which deals with disputes that cannot be resolved between financial business and customers, is planning to reallocate staff ahead of an expected spike in its PPI caseload, already at record levels.

The preparations come after the country’s biggest banks told customers that complaints affected by a legal challenge to new PPI regulatory measures would have to be put on hold.

The British Bankers’ Association (BBA), which launched the legal action last month, said the banks would finish handling the affected complaints once the outcome of a High Court action was known, likely next year.

However, consumers whose complaints are on ice are being advised that they can still take their cases to the Ombudsman – in spite of the banks’ legal action.

“We are preparing for an increase in PPI complaints,” said Emma Parker, a spokesperson for the ombudsman.

“We have already seen a slight increase in calls from consumers following the judicial review. We are maki

Connecticut Insurance Commissioner to Resign After Dust-Ups with Advocacy, Auto Body Groups

HARTFORD, CT — Just days after a consumer advocacy group called for Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Thomas R. Sullivan to step down for approving large premium rate increases since passage of the federal health care reform law, Sullivan notified Gov. Jodi M. Rell that he will resign from the post Nov. 12.

In addition, the Auto Body Association of Connecticut had called for his ouster, saying Sullivan hurt small businesses and automobile insurance consumers in part by failing to act on claims of insurer misconduct in settling collision repair claims and siding with the insurance industry on the use of after-market parts (BestWire, Oct.
